Exporting Data
You can download and backup your data at anytime.
To do so, log into your account and go to your ☰ main menu in the top-right. Then navigate to the Security tab in the left sidebar.
Clicking Export data will display a log of all prior exports you've generated
Download a backup .csv of your data with a package of any images uploaded
You'll also have access to all your past backups
Password Issues
Use a strong password of at least eight characters.
Use a good mix of letters, numbers, and special characters.
Use a password manager to save or even generate a strong password securely.
Log Out Devices
To do so, log into your account and go to your ☰ main menu in the top-right. Then navigate to the Security tab in the left sidebar.
Clicking Log out will log you our of all active sessions on all devices that are signed into your account.
Deleting Account
To delete your Existential account, log into your account and go to your ☰ main menu in the top-right. Then navigate to the Security tab in the left sidebar.
Clicking Delete Account will bring to to a confirmation page where you can share any feedback with us. We greatly appreciate any details on how we can improve the app.
Your data will be briefly recoverable if you delete your account by mistake. Just reach out via email for assistance.
Deleting Cookies
If you're running into a technical issue with Existential, and logging out and back in isn't solving it, then we might recommend clearing our cookies on your browser.
Google Chrome
Copy and paste this address into your address bar:
chrome://settings/privacy
Click Site settings. Then click View permissions and data stored across sites.
Enter
Existentialin the search bar at the top-right.
Click the Delete displayed data button. Then Delete to confirm.
Mozilla Firefox
Copy and paste this address into your address bar:
about:preferences#privacy
In the Cookies and site data section, click the Manage data... button
On Edge: Tap the three dots menu in the very top-right. Tap Apps, then Install this site as an app.
Enter
Existentialin the search bar. Then click the Remove All button.
Safari
In the Safari app on your Mac, click Safari in the top-left.
Click Settings, then the Privacy tab, and then Manage Website Data
Enter
Existentialin the search bar. Then click the Remove All button.
Microsoft Edge
Copy and paste this address into your address bar:
edge://settings/content
In the Cookies and site permissions section, select Manage and delete cookies and site data
Click See all cookies and site data
Enter
Existentialin the search bar. Then click Remove all shown.
Desktop & Mobile Apps
We plan to release dedicated Mac OS, iOS, and Android apps in the future.
In the meantime you can download Existential as a web app to your preferred devices using the following instructions:
Mac/PC (using Chrome or Edge)
Log in to your account and journal in Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge
On Chrome: Tap the three dots menu in the very top-right. Tap Cast, Save, and Share and then Install Page as App…
On Edge: Tap the three dots menu in the very top-right. Tap Apps, then Install this site as an app.
Choose if you'd like to edit the app name, then click Install
iOS (Safari Only)
Log in to your account and journal in Safari
Tap the Share icon in the bottom nav (the square with an arrow pointing up)
Scroll down and tap “Add to Home Screen”
Give the app a name (i.e. Existential). Then, tap Add in the top right.
Android (using Chrome)
Log in to your account and journa in Google Chrome
You may see a popup asking to “Add to Home Screen.” If so, tap it.
If not, tap the three dots menu (top right)
Select “Add to Home screen” or “Install app”
Keyboard Shortcuts
Shortkeys can be great at saving time and effort. Give some of them a try in the app.
